The current first-class stamp price is $0.82, effective July 12, 2026. That covers a standard one-ounce letter sent anywhere in the United States. A Forever stamp always equals the current first-class rate, no matter what you paid for it.
Current USPS Rates (Effective July 12, 2026)
| Postage | Price |
|---|---|
| First-Class Forever stamp (1 oz letter) | $0.82 |
| Each additional ounce | $0.29 |
| Two Ounce stamp | $1.11 |
| Three Ounce stamp | $1.40 |
| Postcard stamp | $0.65 |
| Global Forever (international 1 oz) | $1.75 |
| Book of 20 Forever stamps | $16.40 |
Why the Rate Changes
USPS adjusts prices through the Postal Regulatory Commission, usually once or twice a year, to keep up with operating and delivery costs. Rates have risen steadily in recent years, which is why Forever stamps bought at lower prices still cover a full first-class letter today.
Have Extra Stamps? They’re Worth Cash
Every rate increase makes unused postage more valuable. If you have leftover books, rolls, or sheets of Forever stamps, we buy unused stamps for cash. You get paid a percentage of face value, and today’s face value is the highest it has ever been.
